So we are back at headquarters! The Green Jobs Bus tour is officially over. A somewhat bitter sweet reality. The last 100 hours was certainly packed full of a ton of driving and moving around but all so worth it considering the knowledge gained! I am honestly overwhelmed by how many incredible people there are in California alone creating, lobbying for, or working green jobs. This week I got to see first hand the impact that this economy is making. Goodmorning my dear Green Bus Friends! We have just gone to the coolest gas station EVER!!! Autopia is a biofuel station in San Mateo with a lot of good energy, character and organic coffee. This truly amazing woman, Austin has put a pretty fresh spin on the whole gas station/convenience store idea. Just about everything in there is in some way "sustainable" from the snacks to the beer and of course the fuel. Bio Diesel is a great alternative fuel source largely because it doesn't require a lot and its available now! Sungevity..... doesn't the name sound cool! Like the longevity of the sun sang a song of its future plans to sustain us. Okay maybe that's a little far reaching. Its been a long journey.... but filled with so much inspiration! Sungevity is a solar company that uses satellite technology to help customers assess their solar needs. The main office is located in Jack London Square in the heart of downtown Oakland. As we sat in the lobby employees came in with their bikes ready for work.
